Our Story
The vision for Brisa Bahía started years ago with Kary, who envisioned at the time a beachfront retreat with hammocks, grass houses, and guest rooms in which individuals could reconnect to life’s basics. He traveled over Thailand, the Caribbean, Indonesia, and Nicaragua, seeking the absolute best location—every destination replete with valuable lessons but not quite the best fit. Simultaneously, Kary established a career in solar energy and became a specialist in sustainable living. Yet the dream never wavered. The breakthrough arrived at a tiny Bluesberry Festival in 2022 when Kary and Nhung first met. Both of them shared a vision of sustainability, wellness, and deep, meaningful living, and within a short while, Nhung found Bahía Aguacate, Colombia—the utopia they were searching for. Living in the jungle brought out the simple beauty of things. With no grid power and little technology and all manner of wildlife all around them, Kary and Nhung learned the restorative power of nature. Kary and Nhung’s dream went far beyond a beach resort: they envisioned a wellness and spiritual retreat center that could deliver restoration, connection, and transformation. Following months of renovations and successfully overcoming the challenges of construction in such a remote location, Brisa Bahía was reborn. It has become a haven for individuals who desire genuine connection, wellness, and a closer relationship with the planet.
